  • Prompt service, reasonable prices, respectable. I just recently bought my first house – a fixer-upper. Been dealing with a lot of contractors/etc.; working with Door Service was one of the best experiences in this regard thus far.

  • Messaged several companies after seeing their recommendations on a local group page. Door service was the only one to respond. We set up a day for them to come out and do our repair. Figured out they did the original installation of our door. Brandon was very professional and talked through our issue. He quickly made the necessary repairs and even adjusted the travel of the door. We would recommend him to anyone needing service on their garage doors.

Tell us what the door is doing.

Tap the closest one

We’ll tell you what it usually is, what to do until we get there, and which visit fixes it.

It won’t open at allUrgent

UsuallyA broken torsion spring, or an opener that has lost its drive. If the door feels impossibly heavy by hand, it’s the spring.

Right nowDon’t keep hitting the button and don’t try to lift a two-car door alone. Leave it and call.

Loud bang, then it’s stuckUrgent

UsuallyThat bang was a spring snapping. It happens most on cold mornings, and the door will not move safely until it’s replaced.

Right nowLeave the door down. If your car is inside, tell us when you call.

Opens a few inches, then stopsRepair

UsuallyUsually a spring on its way out, a frozen bottom seal, or an opener force setting that’s giving up.

Right nowIf it’s below freezing, check that the bottom rubber isn’t iced to the floor before anything else.

Crooked, jammed, or off the trackRepair

UsuallyA frayed or slipped cable, a worn roller that jumped the track, or a bent section of track.

Right nowStop using the opener. A door out of its track can drop — keep people and cars clear of it.

Opener runs, door doesn’t moveRepair

UsuallyA stripped drive gear, a disconnected trolley, or a broken spring the opener can’t lift against.

Right nowPull the red release cord only if the door is fully closed. If it’s open, leave it and call.

Cable hanging loose or frayedRepair

UsuallyA lift cable has slipped its drum or is coming apart. The door is now lifting unevenly and stressing everything else.

Right nowDon’t run the door. Cables carry the full weight of it.

Grinding, squealing, rattlingTune-up

UsuallyWorn rollers, dry hinges, loose hardware, or a chain-drive opener that needs adjustment.

Right nowNoise is the cheap warning. It gets fixed for a lot less than the part it’s about to break.

Door slams down or falls fastUrgent

UsuallySprings that have lost tension or broken. Nothing is counterbalancing the door’s weight.

Right nowThis one’s dangerous. Keep kids and pets away from it and call today.

Remote or keypad stopped workingQuick fix

UsuallyA battery, a lost code, or a receiver board — or the wall button works and the remote doesn’t, which points at the opener’s logic board.

Right nowTry the wall button first. If that works, it’s the remote side and a quick fix.

Don’t force the opener and don’t lift a two-car door by hand. Call, tell us what it’s doing, and if a car is inside say so.

How a visit goes.

From the call to the fix
  1. 01

    Call or text.

Tell us what the door is doing and where you are. A photo of the door helps. If a car is stuck inside, say so and we plan around it.

  2. 02

    We come out and look.

The estimate is free. Rollers, cables and springs ride on the truck, so most repairs happen on that first visit.

  3. 03

Fixed, or measured for a new door.

A repair leaves with the door running right. A new door is measured, ordered and installed on a scheduled day.

Where top quality comes first.
