Opener dead, humming, or ignoring the remote?
We repair openers of every make and model, and when a new one is the better money we install quiet belt-drive units with battery backup and phone control.

Signs it’s this
- Opener hums but the door doesn’t move
- Grinding noise from the motor head
- Door reverses on the way down
- Remote works sometimes, keypad never
- Light blinks and nothing happens
- Opener is older than the house’s last paint job
Repair or replace, honestly
A stripped gear, a bad capacitor or a misaligned sensor is a repair. A 20-year-old chain drive with a failing logic board is a replacement, and we’ll say so.
- Drive gears, trolleys, capacitors and logic boards
- Safety sensors aligned and replaced
- Remotes and keypads programmed, lost codes cleared
- Force and travel limits set properly
- New belt-drive and chain-drive openers, all major brands
- Battery backup and smartphone control on new units
Door reversing before it closes?
Nine times out of ten it’s the photo-eye sensors near the floor: dirty, bumped, or catching sun. Wipe them and check they’re facing each other before you call — it’s a free fix if that’s it.
(517) 507-8781How an opener install goes
- We check the door firstAn opener can’t fix a door that’s out of balance. That gets sorted before the new unit goes up.
- Old unit down, new unit upRail, motor head, sensors, wall button — usually a couple of hours.
- Remotes and keypad programmedPlus your phone, if the unit supports it.
- Tested with youYou see it run and reverse before we go.

Common questions
Belt if anyone sleeps near the garage — it’s much quieter. Chain if it’s a detached garage and you want the cheapest reliable option.
Yes — the openers in our photos are LiftMaster belt drives — along with other major brands. We service every make.
Often. Gears, sensors, capacitors and remotes are all repairs. We’ll tell you when the board or motor is gone and it’s not worth it.
That’s usually the wall button or its wire, not the opener. Quick fix.
